ADG News / ADG End-of-Quarter News for Q1 2018
« on: March 30, 2018, 08:47:00 pm »
Hello everyone, this is MCAdventureCity, and welcome to the end-of-quarter status Update for ADG! Let’s get to the news!

Current State

Due to factors unknown to me, CJWilk and the only other ADG developer suspiciously ceased all development activity near the end of November and since then have not messaged me in Discord at all. This of course means that I am once again a one-man team, working to make quality packs all by myself. This means, unfortunately, that I have to cut work on GroundCity: Best of 1.7.10 (also known as GroundCity: Golden Age) completely. In addition, 1.7.10 as a version is basically dead, especially now that Thaumcraft 6 is publicly available. Due to this, any new projects I create will be on 1.12.2. However, I will still maintain my three older packs (Great Adventure, Volatile 3, and Gamer City) as part of my continuous development workflow. Anyways, moving on to updates to our existing packs…

Pack Updates

Let’s begin with the smallest of these planned updates. Great Adventure version 1.1.0 will add more Achievements for Advent of Ascension Bosses, and possibly Blood Magic and Thaumcraft 4 (If I can find someone willing to write them, as I am not as familiar with those mods).

Moving to 1.11.2, ADG Volatile 3 will receive a bump to version 2.0.0, cleaning up the pack, and adding the long-awaited questing I promised when I released it.

Finally, ADG Omega XII was last updated in November, and so will be bumped to version 3.0.0 with another all new modlist. However, this update will not be released until June because I am planning to build it entirely off of community feedback. That’s right, you can nominate your favorite mods to be included. I also am planning to rigorously test and promote this update via YouTubers and Streamers. In addition, I will also add a quest book.

New Packs

I currently have two new packs in the works: ADG Omicron and ADG Ultimatum.

ADG Omicron is a lighter version of ADG Omega that will release at the same time as Omega 3.0.0, in June. It will use the top voted mods from Omega’s community votes and will be well under 100 mods.

ADG Ultimatum is an Expert Modpack that is still in the early planning stages but will definitely have some unique twists and lesser-known mods. It will likely release in the second half of 2018.

Closing Words

Thanks for reading. I am hoping to have monthly, or maybe even twice monthly news posts from now on. See you next time!

ADG News / ADG News - November 2017

Hello, and welcome to the November News Update for ADG!!

Current State

Now as you probably know, there has been a lack of ADG News recently. This is due to the fact that I started my Junior Year of high school in August, and am taking AP classes, so have been focusing more on homework. I also recently joined another Modpack team, so CJWilk is calling most of the development decisions for the time being. However, I still am able to make time to work on more basic packs, as well as attempt to get Best of 1.7 done, which brings us to our next topic.

Best of 1.7.10

If things had gone according to my planned schedule, Best of 1.7.10 would have been out in September, followed by Rage Mode in October. However, due to school, this did not happen. Thus, the main pack is delayed to January, and Rage Mode to March.

Other Packs

In June, on my previous news post, I announced that the Volatile Series would be phased out in favor of the new ADG Omega Series, which is released as an unstable pack and evolves into a Kitchen Sink pack. However, ADG Omega XII has not been updated for three months, and so I will be releasing v2.0 within the next few days, which has a redone modlist and is on 1.12.2 rather than 1.12.0. In addition, I am going to be shifting from a traditional development method (discontinuing packs when out of date) to a method where I continuously provide support and updates for certain (probably most) Minecraft versions. This means that several of my previously discontinued modpacks will resume updates.

Plans

  • Best of 1.7.10 release - Q1 2018
  • Omega XII v2.0 - By 11/10/2017
  • Shift to new development and maintenance pattern - By 11/30/2017
  • The ADG Team is developing a top secret new expert mode pack, led by CJWilk.

ADG News / Asylum Development Group: Current State and Plans for 2017
« on: June 09, 2017, 10:18:20 pm »
Hello. Today I want to tell you the Current State of My Modpack Team ADG (Asylum Dev Group), as well as discuss my current plans for the remainder of 2017.

Current State

Recently my other two developers, John and Jacob/CJWilk, left the team, meaning I am basically a "one-man team" doing the work myself but using the team branding. Fear not though, this means I am working extra hard to produce quality modpacks and still complete them in a reasonable timeframe.

Currently I am giving priority to working on two packs: Best of 1.7.10 and Best of 1.7.10 Rage Mode. I am giving these priority because they are on 1.7, which is losing players, so I want to get these out as soon as I can so that they get the attention they need to fulfill my plan for them.

With regard to 1.10.2 and up, modding is in kind of an awkward state. Mods (and players) are split between 1.10.2 and 1.11.2, mainly due to some mods being on one version or the other. That makes it somewhat more difficult to make modpacks. This brings us to our next section, Plans for 2017.

Plans for 2017

In addition, 1.12 released Wednesday, and a Forge version is likely to follow in the next week or so. I personally am hoping that 1.12 lasts long enough to become the next 1.7.10 (or at least solve the 1.10/1.11 problem), that way I can make better modpacks. For each major Minecraft version starting with 1.8 I have always had my first pack on that version be a pack in the "ADG Volatile" series, which is my equivalent to FTB Unstable. The current Volatile Modpack, the third one, is for 1.11.2. But, 1.12.x will bring some changes to my pack development schedule for each Minecraft version.

Beginning with 1.12, I will discontinue the Volatile lineup of modpacks, and stop updates on Volatile 3 by July 31. Instead, my plan is to release the ADG Flagship Kitchen Sink pack as soon as possible after Forge 1.12 comes out, and Gradually update it as new mods are released and mods are updated. This pack will be Called "ADG Omega XII: A New Age", with the XII referencing the "12" in "1.12". Now, let me discuss my other plans for packs, a few of which are on 1.10 or 1.7.

  • ADG Presents Gamer City Final Update - June 8, 2017 Done
  • ADG Omega XII: A New Age - Around June 17, 2017, or whenever forge 1.12 releases - Minecraft 1.12 Done
  • ADG Omega X - June 2017 - Kitchen Sink 1.10.2 Pack - Minecraft 1.10.2 Cancelled
  • ADG Volatile 3 Discontinuation - By July 31, 2017 - Done
  • GroundCity: Best of 1.7.10 - Q1 2018 (Likely January) - See FTB Forums for More Info. - Minecraft 1.7.10
  • GroundCity: Rage Mode - Q1 2018 (likely March) - Same as above. - Minecraft 1.7.10
  • SkyCity II - Unknown Date or Version (in early planning still) - On Indefinite Hold
  • Maybe more to be revealed at a later date...

That is it for Now!! Thanks for reading!
